Our story
Homeward Companions was born from a personal experience. When our founder's mother was discharged from hospital after a hip replacement, the family quickly realised how challenging those first few days at home could be. Despite their best efforts to be there, work and family commitments meant gaps in support – and worry for everyone.
That experience revealed a clear need: professional, reliable support specifically designed for the post-hospital transition period. Not medical care, not full-time carers, but practical help and friendly companionship during those crucial first days home.
Today, Homeward Companions provides exactly that service across London. Our trained companions help older adults settle back home safely, while giving families the peace of mind they need.
